We Are All Coaches

As REALTORS® we interact with people and help them make good decisions about housing – we help them get from where they are to where they want to be.  This is coaching. 

Whether you are helping someone get their first home, helping them sell their long-time family residence or helping them navigate the often-complicated moves in between, understanding what’s important to them and helping them make that happen is what great REALTORS® do. 

Sure, we use hard skills to prepare the house for sale, understand market conditions, execute contracts, arrange financing, etc, but much of what we do falls into the soft skills basket.  

What are soft skills?  They are the things let us deal effectively with the stakeholders in the real estate transaction.  Our ability to understand people, connect with them and interact in a way that makes them know that we have their back is what differentiates the great REALTORS® from the mediocre.  This is what makes our work meaningful and enjoyable. 

Are you good at this?   

Never has there been more need for these skills to be shared.  Most of the training for REALTORS® is focussed on getting leads and almost none of it on doing a great job serving the clients.  This leads to low client satisfaction which in turn leads to poor business growth because past clients don’t refer their REALTOR©.  On the flip side, high level soft skills give the client an amazing experience and outstanding results.  Nothing feels better than having helped a client in a meaningful way and having them feel grateful for your work.

Why not share it with others?  We have a model and a methodology that teaches these important skills.  We are opening up our coach training program to people outside of The Nature of Real Estate.  This is an opportunity to learn the skills that can have a powerful impact on the people you serve.  Whether that is your real estate clients, your team, the agents you manage, or coaching clients/mentees, these skills will change the way you see things and dramatically affect the impact you have.
